Pistols
Johnny Rotten turns 50.
in the London Telegraph he shares these great tidbits:
Sex: 'There was so much sex around in the Seventies, it got very boring.'
Death: 'There's nothing glorious in dying. Anyone can do it.'
Bono: 'He should lay off the preaching. If you mean to do some good in this world you don't need to go bowing to the Pope.'
Sid Vicious's famous girlfriend, Nancy Spungen: 'Nancy was a pain in the arse, all over me. So I fobbed her off on Sid. From that moment, that was the end of both of them.'
The Eagles: 'Irrelevant. A band like that doesn't write songs that mean anything.'
Love the Bono and Eagles disses. Speaking of Nancy, Schwinn has a Sid and Nancy cruiser!
Something is wrong tho... it doesn't have heroine tracks on the fork arms DUH!
How about this project:
From their site:
Project
"Ten Thousand Cents" is a digital artwork that creates a representation of a $100 bill. Using a custom drawing tool, thousands of individuals working in isolation from one another painted a tiny part of the bill without knowledge of the overall task. Workers were paid one cent each via Amazon's Mechanical Turk distributed labor tool. The total labor cost to create the bill, the artwork being created, and the reproductions available for purchase are all $100. The work is presented as a video piece with all 10,000 parts being drawn simultaneously. The project explores the circumstances we live in, a new and uncharted combination of digital labor markets, "crowdsourcing," "virtual economies," and digital reproduction.
-How did you get all 10000 drawings?
We posted tasks on Amazon's Mechanical Turk site. Anonymously, 10000 artists worked on drawing pieces of a $100 bill. and we paid one cent per piece (total $100).
Kool! I used to do a similar project with my elementary art students and a classic painting. Always ended up amazing!
and then these guys bring the cute kittens and chicks to candy sales:
Two freakin flats on the same bike in one day! What is up with that? Karma is bad for the SWOBO right now I guess.

Finally got to play a bit today. The observers and a couple of other vets set up a Goaltimate kit and I pulled away from garbage duty to play some points. It was so fun! My lungs, knees and toes kill (had to borrow some too small cleats). Odds and Ends beat Observers 4 games to 3!
Bolted immediately after the Hodags routed Florida in Finals.
40 mph tailwind blasts me right out of Colorado.
Ben is over and now three big dogs sleep quietly at my feet. Travel is great! Home after travel is equally great! Thanks Z for the fabulous accomodations.
A new acquaintance hooked me up with the Boulder Thursday Night Cruise and it was a blast. Folks meet and drink and ride and create general mayhem. Lots of drinking, costumes and sound system bikes. Ride goes wherever the road takes them and ends at a local tavern.
I got some good ideas for a roaming cycle boombox, let's see if I can execute...
The UPA is hosting College Nationals in Boulder this weekend. 670 Players, 32 Teams. Things got rolling today with team registration, player packs and the captains meeting. This is a pretty big deal. CBS Sports are here. All details need to be covered. Madison's Hodags and Belladonna are here too and should do well.
Dartmouth showed up at the captains meeting dressed like this
Here's what a Colorado rock garden looks like:
