Fever

I tend to hammer it when doing long cross country drives. Problem is Volkwagon buses/vans are just not cut out for I-roads, sustained high rates of speed and semi trailer hopscotch. This is your living room/bedroom/kitchen on wheels.

1. Underpowered as hell. Maybe 100 hp
2. Heavy. I really do have a kitchen sink, and a fridge, and stove. and two big dogs and a ton of gear
3. Worst aerodynamics ever! This is a brick on wheels

So, this trip, with gas prices from $3.70/gallon, I am trying a different approach. Cruise control all the way, set at 60, engine turning a comfortable 3200 rpm. So far, I'm getting 250 miles on a tank full and the van seems happy. Course I'm getting passed by everything on the road; cars, trucks, kids on tricycles. Oh well, I have time. I don't really have to be in Boulder until Thursday night.

Music is the savior. That "Fever" cover is so bad assed!
