The UPA is hosting College Nationals in Boulder this weekend. 670 Players, 32 Teams. Things got rolling today with team registration, player packs and the captains meeting. This is a pretty big deal. CBS Sports are here. All details need to be covered. Madison's Hodags and Belladonna are here too and should do well.
Dartmouth showed up at the captains meeting dressed like this
Here's what a Colorado rock garden looks like:
GNARLY!

Boulder, Colorado, home of the hybrid suv with bike/kayak/rocket box roof rack. Everyone here is white, outdoor oriented and recession free. I'm not above this. I love all the cyclists. I've got my bike rack. It is amazingly beautiful. KennyG next to me here at the Folsom St Coffee shop keeps shaking his golden curly locks as he reads his Outdoor Magazine cloaked in hemp Patagonia gear.
Had some excitement on the highway yesterday. Just outside of Denver some turd dropped the rearvew mirror off the side of their Chevy truck and it launched up under my van. There was much banging and ever since I have an exhaust leak or some crap. The dogs are pissed, I'm pissed. Is that what makes this an adventure?
Had accommodations offered by a friendly Boulder Vanagon owner. Up Boulder Canyon and up and up and off road and now there is snow and we keep climbing. People still have their studded tires on. Saw a fox. Twisty steep roads and Westies just aren't too compatible. After an hour searching I abandon. We sleep at a quiet roadside pull-off and it is cold! This morning I found a very quaint lodge/campground at the base of Four Mile Canyon. We will stay here for the remainder of the visit. I can easily ride my bike down into Boulder and do my business. Hot showers are nice.
The dogs wanna rock. Griffin immediately goes straight in the ice cold water. Ghost dog marks everything in sight and finds something dead to eat. Poor guy is starved.
Now let's find that exhaust leak.
Wild (Buffalo) Bill Kody Attraction... End of the line Nebraska.
Today we push through the state with no reason to stop. I wish there was something to distract in Nebraska. Flat and more flat. North Platte is the last stop before Colorado and we find Wild Bill relic. Love the Mufflerman as Injun!
I tend to hammer it when doing long cross country drives. Problem is Volkwagon buses/vans are just not cut out for I-roads, sustained high rates of speed and semi trailer hopscotch. This is your living room/bedroom/kitchen on wheels.
- Underpowered as hell. Maybe 100 hp
- Heavy. I really do have a kitchen sink, and a fridge, and stove. and two big dogs and a ton of gear
- Worst aerodynamics ever! This is a brick on wheels
Music is the savior. That "Fever" cover is so bad assed!

Never really been a big Wings fan, but I have spoken of former UW player Chris Chelios here before. Now he's up for the Masterson Trophy, given annually by the Professional Hockey Writers' Association. The dude rocks!
Super psyched about this guy:
Nicklas Lidstrom, up for his sixth Norris Trophy in the last seven
years as the league’s best defenseman, has recorded no hits in the
first two playoff rounds. Evidence that hitting is entirely beside the point when it comes to playing great hockey. Lidstrom shares the team lead in blocked shots (eight), holds a
strong plus-7 and has two goals and five assists, all while averaging a
team-high 25 minutes 32 seconds of ice time.
The Wings lead the Dallas Stars 1-0 in the Western Conference with a quick 4-1 victory last night. Former Badger Brian Rafalski had a second period power-play goal.
MY SCORE Yesterday:
Two 12" D.E.T.T. Records for $3
Great Trouble Funk records with fantastic Instrumental "Special Mixes" on the b-sides.
Also got this Big Audio Dynamite II album The Globe from 1991. Always liked "Rush" and the album has some real gems.

Much excitement in the high art world. We may be munching ramen, but this Jean Michel is auctioning for an estimated $3 million this week
Roy Lichtenstein's Ball of Twine may hit a record high of $18 million!
Monet's Le Point du Chemin de Fer a
Argenteuil just sold for a grand insane sum of $41,500,000!
I'm a big fan of this Robert Indiana work:
USA 666, The 6th American Dream

Sign of the devil? Apparently not. Indiana's father Earl was born in the sixth month in a family of six children and this father was to eventually leave his own family and head west taking Route 66.

Could blather on about the passing of another year and how young I look, or old I feel, but what it really all comes down to is gravity. Money grubbing opportunists are quick to pick up on this. Just look at all the gravity fighting products you can buy. Everything from rubberbands for your face, to wonderbras, to cosmetic surgery. Bottom line you vs. Gravity = FAIL!

Thats gonna hurt!
Of course gravity helps me too. I love bombing hills on bike, snowboard or skateboard. Wouldn't my frisbee just float to the moon without g-force1? Rivers flow, snow falls, balls bounce. Pinned to my bed at night, I am glad for Neuton's Apple.

My daughter had me write my six word biography the other month:

Happy Birthday to me!
